What is acupuncture?
It is the oldest continually taught medicine in the world. (It is not accupuncture) Acupuncture is one modality in many that a licensed acupuncturist may use. Others may include cupping, moxabustion, Chinese herbs combined to make a formula, Tui Na, Qi Gong(pronounced chee gong) , proper nutrition, and introspection/ mindfulness. Sometimes these are referred to as the Eight Legs of The Stool of Chinese Medicine.
Acupuncture: The practitioner uses solid stainless steel disposable needles in acupuncture points that are distributed throughout the body to return the body to balance. Unlike receiving a shot for the flu or some other injection the acupuncture needle slides into the skin without pain.
