PMS and Acupuncture

PMS has been and continues to be effectively relieved with acupuncture for thousands of years.  Chinese medicine practices a holistic approach and empowers patients with education.  The acupuncturist can demonstrate for patients basic massage techniques that assist in decreasing PMS symptoms.

A women may massage her own leg from the knee to the ankle on the inside of the calf close to the bone.  As you are massaging tender spots will arise. Gently and patiently massage those spots.  Over the course of five to ten minutes those tender spots should reduce in sensitivity and so should any PMS cramps.  This should provide some relief and can be performed safe and effectively for any one experiencing menstrual cramps.

Women and Menopause

It is unfortunate that so many women that accept symptoms during menopause as normal.  The truth is that it is common not normal.  The reason many women have hot flashes, night sweats, emotional swings and various other symptoms is because their bodies are not responding well to a natural change.

So the question is, what can you do?  Proper nutrition is vital to a healthy human.  This includes a balance of good greens (kale, spinach, beets and other varieties of vegetables), proteins
(fish, chicken, all organic is best and avoid excess soy since they stimulate hormones) and light carbohydrates.  The emphasis on organic is huge.  Foods that have GMO are not natural to the body and may result in stress for the body.  Acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas can be utilized without side effects to effectively re-create harmony in the body to reduce and alleviate symptoms.
